What happened
3×3 basketball will bring international police teams to the Malecón Deportivo courts on George Washington Avenue, combining individual skill and collective strategy at the 4th USIP World Police Games.
The men’s tournament will welcome up to two teams per country, each comprising four players, allowing a maximum of eight athletes per delegation. Teams will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals.
The preliminary stage will follow a group or round-robin format based on the number of entries, in accordance with the FIBA 3×3 Multisport Events Manual. The planned semifinals will pair the first-ranked team against the fourth and the second against the third. Winners will advance to the gold medal match, while the remaining teams will contest bronze. The final competition structure will be confirmed once registrations are complete.
Participation is open to eligible police officers and public police academy students aged 18 and above from USIP member organisations. Eligibility verification and anti-doping controls will support fair play and sporting integrity.
With its emphasis on quick decisions, coordination and teamwork, the tournament will provide a platform for sporting achievement while strengthening friendships across the international police sports community.
